Economic Development for Henderson County
Henderson County, located almost equal distance between Nashville and Memphis, is strategically situated to serve the populous and rapidly developing areas of Tennessee and the Southeast Region of the United States. A number of manufacturing plants in Lexington have found the city's location to be ideal for them to distribute products to a national market. Lexington's manufacturing, processing industries, and distribution centers distribute goods all over the Southeast, as well as the principal markets in the United States.
Henderson County is fortunate to have one of only six general aviation airports in Tennessee that have 6,000 feet or more of runways. The Beech River Regional Airport includes approximately 400 acres of property in Henderson County. It consists of a 4,000 foot terminal building, 10,000 square foot maintenance hangar, and 24 T-hangar units which will service business, corporate and personal aircraft. The airport also has a lighted runway and taxiway along with modern navigational aids. A full-length, parallel taxiway was also included in the design for increased safety.
